The Social Skills Agency Workshop
At the Social Skills Agency, we offer music groups, drama clubs, film clubs, and much more. Your child will have the opportunity to share their interests with like-minded people and have fun while working on their social challenges and difficulties.
Our groups and clubs are organised based on shared interests and the importance of focused, meaningful activities for individuals who struggle with social communication, particularly those on the Autism Spectrum.
G really benefitted from the sessions. She came out of the sessions glowing with positive things to say about the girls, as well as Adri and Matti.
G asked me to find this kind of group for her initially because she wanted to make friends, to find a group of people who would ‘get’ her. This group of girls was perfect – friendly and approachable, and quickly formed a ‘WhatsApp’ friendship. I know that she felt welcome and accepted at the sessions, which gave her a real boost as there are not many places where she feels like this.
One thing that G really enjoyed about the sessions was Matti’s presence. Because she is a young woman I think G could really relate to her. She said she was ‘really nice, and really cool’. I think this played an important part in the sessions – someone young enough that the girls can relate to and who understands what teens go through.
From my point of view the sessions were a welcome opportunity to learn a little more about how to share and teach social skills and a chance to meet other mums going through similar things that I’m going through.
From my perspective the course has been hugely beneficial to Z’s sense of well-being and confidence. I thought Adri was a great facilitator and a positive influence, I know that Z really loved meeting Matti too. I think that the length and frequency of the sessions was just right and Z really looked forward to going each time. Another positive consequence of running the course for the girls is that parents can get to know each other too. I have really enjoyed meeting the other mums and hope that we will continue to organise fun social get togethers for us and the girls!
We found the Auti-M course very helpful. My daughter thinks it has helped her socialising skills. We would be happy to do some more work with the group in the summer.
