I have founded this charity to to improve the understanding, throughout England and Wales, of the prevalence and needs of females with Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC).
Waheeda
My name is Waheeda Hales and I have been a resident of Bath for over a decade. For the best part of this decade, I have been supporting Autistic girls and women. A voluntary job in 2014 acting as a mentor to an Autistic teenage girl with ADHD became the springboard for a career in social care. I have worked with many individual clients with additional needs, but my particular interest is autism in females – something I believe that there is not enough general knowledge about.
In 2022, I was delighted to discover that a charity with this theme at its heart existed just down the road from me in Bristol! I became a volunteer and eventually a trustee, in October 2022. Outside of my paid and charity work I am involved in a variety of activities. My greatest passion is improvised drama, which I perform with groups in Bath and Bristol – and sometimes further afield! I am evangelical about improv, as I always say that “life doesn’t come with a script…”.
